Choosing Allah, always
Recognizing the only path to freedom

Bismillah 🤍
I went back to read this post from January 2026 and I am so grateful for this journey and the lessons it’s teaching me.
Alhamdulillah 🤍
I kept on asking Allah to open for me the doors of His mercy. Turns out I was insisting on the wrong doors. The doors of His mercy were always open. Sometimes, it takes taking a step back and a truckload of du’as to notice the ease in the midst of storms or how Al Lateef, in His Gentleness, His Subtlety, His Kindness, never leaves us to ourselves, even for a blink of an eye.
His decree may feel heavy but it always carries a delicate kindness and hidden wisdom I can only perceive in hindsight. He is deliberate about guiding me and protecting me. But most times, I don’t understand or simply forget.
I strive to live a life where I can readily, without hesitation, recognize hardships as blessings in disguise, arriving quietly and intentionally. A perspective that only beautiful patience and complete reliance on Him can teach.
I pray for yaqeen and tawakkul like that of our mother Hajjar, left in the desert with a nursing baby. Indeed, Allah never abandons His people and may we be among them.
May we be people of
‘We hear and obey’ (2:285)
People who don’t question the decree because they know deep down that everything is working out in their favor.
Even when the storm doesn’t seem to quiet down.
Even when people and shayatin try to plant seeds of doubt in us.
Submitting…
Surrendering…
It occurred to me how this is the true path to freedom. Yes, life comes with adversities. We have to be prepared to endure hardships. That reality, He made it very clear in the Quran.
‘Indeed, We have created humankind in ˹constant˺ struggle.’ (90:4)
Freedom is not the promise of quieter seasons, for every season comes with its share of challenges. Freedom is liberating ourselves from the burdens we engineer by trying to control every outcome. It’s the peace that comes from fully trusting the One Who sees and hears what we cannot. It’s the grace, learned through His help, to move through difficulty with steadiness and trust. It’s the knowledge that He is taking care of us even when we do not perceive it.
This is not an invitation to passivity. Sabr jameel is active. Yaqeen is intentional. Tawakkul is forward looking. We’ve witnessed enough rainy seasons to know that many things in this life fall outside of our control. The Divine Plan may not always make sense. We may never fully understand it in our time on earth, but we trust the One Who wrote it.
I pray this finds you well and that you keep marching forward no matter what life throws at you. Be discerning, be active in what you can control. Put in consistent, sincere efforts in your projects, but also be trusting that He saw everything, and in the most subtle ways, He is guiding and protecting you.
Always choose Him.
With love and du’as ❤
